Alex Gupta
As Transferability Broker & Underwriter at Break Point Energy, Alex Gupta is focused on using his industry expertise to forge a smooth and simple sale experience for buyers and sellers of clean energy tax credits. Alex founded Break Point Energy because he believes that corporate entities will need to play an active role in the United States energy transition for the country to meet its climate change goals.
Alex brings a wealth of clean energy tax credit knowledge from his previous credit roles at Bank of America and GE Capital where he underwrote over $1 billion of tax equity investment in over 2,000 megawatts of wind, solar, and battery storage projects in the United States. In this capacity, Alex led the due diligence process related to the qualification and value of Internal Revenue Code Section 45 Production Tax Credits and Section 48 Investment Tax Credits.
Prior to working as a banker, Alex worked as an engineering project manager at Spectra Energy where his team developed the company’s first grassroots natural gas reservoir storage project and the industry’s first large diameter natural gas pipeline into Manhattan, New York City in over 60 years.
Alex earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
