Bernard Kinsella

Bernie Kinsella shapes NRG’s environmental products business strategy, including procurement and portfolio management, executing commercial products, and exploring new routes to market. He helps enhance NRG’s position as a comprehensive decarbonization platform.

Prior to NRG, Bernie was Director of Environmental Markets Supply & Trading at Just Energy where he led the trading of North American renewable energy credits (RECs) and global voluntary carbon markets. Prior to Just Energy, Bernie led the commercial efforts for a landfill gas company owned by Capital Dynamics. He also has additional experience in power and REC trading with EDP Renewables and ACES power marketing.

Bernie holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska.
